Solís has traveled extensively throughout the US and internationally and helped organize and teach ultrasound courses in several countries including his native Panamá, where he was instrumental in incorporating point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) into Emergency Medicine Resident training, and later, the medical school curriculum of the University of Panamá, where he was named Visiting Professor.Dr. ![]() Additionally, he has experience in Long-Term Acute Care, serving as an attending and consultant for North Alabama Specialty Hospital. Thomas Health System, as well as suburban emergency departments in the Atlanta, Georgia area within the Northside Hospital System. Solís’ EM experience includes work at small, rural community emergency departments in Middle Tennessee within the St. Solís is an active contributor to EMS in Alabama EMS Region One (AERO,) and has lectured extensively and developed and taught a siloed FOAMEd-based (Free Online Access Medical Education) airway management curriculum for EMS.ĭr. His interest in physician-led EMS education and training as well as improving rural emergency medicine and EMS let to him be a co-founder and organizer of the annual Rocket City Emergency Medicine and EMS conference. While at Huntsville Hospital, he was very active in EM leadership and EMS medical direction and education and became the medical director for Calhoun College EMS education program, as well as for several regional EMS agencies and 911 centers. In 2011, after completing Emergency Medicine Residency, he returned to North Alabama, where he worked as an emergency department physician in the Huntsville Hospital System, both at Huntsville Hospital and Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, a tertiary care, level-1 trauma center and dedicated pediatric emergency department, eventually reaching the title of Vice-Chair of Emergency Medicine. Solís maintains Board Certifications in both Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services, and completed an Advanced Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship at Augusta University in 2021. Solís had extensive EMS experience prior to his medical career, working as a Paramedic, EMS supervisor and instructor in North Alabama for nearly 15 years before departing to further his studies. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, Georgia. Solís is a 2008 graduate of the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. ![]()
